Why does my wood-burning stove creak?

Noise from the wood-burning stove can occur – below you can see what you can do to remedy it.

Note: Most wood-burning stoves tick during heating and cooling.

  • In some cases, the normal ticking can be replaced by some bangs. This can be due to tensions in the steel that arise during the welding of the wood-burning stove. These are released during heating and cooling.
  • In some cases, these tensions can be removed by firing the wood-burning stove hard.
  • The heat shield behind the door can be loosened slightly and tightened again.
